2016-17 Academic Programming Complete

artworxLA students celebrated the completion of over 11-weeks of artistic workshops at three public art exhibitions. Held alongside our 2016-17 artistic partners Los Angeles Public Library and TaskForce, Skirball Cultural Center, and the Los Angeles Conservancy, these presentations capped off workshops with these cultural institutions. Inspired by our academic themes Preserving Your LA: People and Places the Matter, Civic Engagement: Democracy in Action, and Weathering The Storm: Building Resilient Communities, our student's gained exposure to global issues within their communities and were provided local destinations to explore each themes enriching content creativity. Within each exhibition, our students took with them the understanding that they too deserve a platform to share their experiences with their community and that they can bring chagne to their communities with their participation. Congrats to our students.
