28th anniversary campaign + online auction crowdfunding
We're debuting our new crowdfunding page along with a special video of a look inside the classroom. artworxLA plays a critical role in our students' lives, by providing equitable arts education. In response to COVID-19, we continue to roll out digital access and arts activities to our students, already in our third week of remote-learning for our Advanced Programs students. Now, more than ever they need our support to keep them engaged. Learn more about how we're keeping students engaged.
While we are starting to transition into online arts education, our mission remains the same. Every year we combat the high school dropout crisis, by providing over 1,000 students with a long-term, sequential arts program by engaging students in the arts and creative paths. By offering internships, pathways to college, and job opportunities we ensure that the program doesn't end in high school. Entertainment and Digital Media sectors are the largest employer in LA’s creative industry, and we actively work to get our students into those opportunities.
This past year we've accomplished: workshops year round at 32 school sites, 1050 workshops, and 5 Public Presentations. We're currently meeting more frequently to support Advanced Program students and their social emotional well being, as well as assessing and updating our technology needs to meet the new circumstances.
We cannot change the uncertainties we’re facing together, but we certainly can make a difference in our students’ lives by bringing them the virtual arts education we are working on.
Bring us back to classrooms after addressing the emergency COVID-19 measures. Be sure to review the ways you can make an impact and please share this page with your family and friends. Your involvement is critical to success for our students. Thank you again for your support.
