De’Shawn

De’Shawn is a student at Rose City High School. De’Shawn’s passion for art started at a young age when his mom introduced him to his first art and design course. Before his involvement in our programs, Lamar surrounded himself with the “wrong crowd” which had a negative influence one his overall interest in school. Last spring, De’Shawn participated in a Visual Arts residency at ArtCenter College through artworxLA’s Advanced Programs. Inspired by that experience, he applied and received a summer scholarship to ArtCenter College and returned for their Art 360 programs. On track to graduate in the Summer of 2018, De’Shawn is eager to enroll in an art school program to develop his skills in graphic arts.
