Arc of a Story with Vanessa
In our last lesson, we explored telling a story with a beginning, middle, and end using tableau images. For this project, we are going to think of the arc of a story in a very different way. We are going to think about both ancient stories of a Great Flood and like professionals in the film and animation industries! There are three very short videos to help you with this assignment.
Step 1: Click below to watch a short intro to “foundational stories” and how they relate to our Skirball Cultural Center theme, After the Flood: Building Community through Rituals of Care.
Step 2: Click below to watch this children’s animation, Tiddalick, and think about the beginning, middle, and end of the story in relation to larger themes of the Great Flood.
Step 3: Click below to watch a short video introduction to storyboards and an example of our project.
Final Step: Click below for a PDF of the assignment.
If you can’t print this out, no problem! Simply draw three rectangles on any piece of paper for your storyboard (you can even trace it from the screen if you are extra careful not to damage your screen) and write your text around the rectangles.
